Bon courage, Monsieur Alexandre Jardin!

Say no to literature prizes and other public relation ranking vanitys Tuesday, Apr 12 2011

John  Le Carré grew very much in my respect these days.

Ever thought that associating a prize with a famous name is not necessary to the favour of the winner? Who are these people who think that the  motivation of writing is participating to a starlet contest? What about the probable advantage to associate the image of the sponsor of the prize to the life long self earned fame of this author?  Do we believe that each engagement into culture and charity is born out of noble intentions?

Considering the choices of the last years, and the philosophical absurdity of pleasing the need of a cultural and social failing middle class for orientation through lists, it is very obvious that distancing oneself from it, is a sign of self respect. Something this up climbing, down looking class does not understand , lost as they are in their vacuous image polishing and unable to recognize who flatters their shallow conformity and what for.

The true winners these days are those who don’t participate to the illusion of grandeur of this failing greed empire, but know that an ethical life is also about saying no.

Views on the world might be different, but a sense for values might remain the same. Who needs dry laurel when one has a vital acuity .

Ensemble, together…changeons ce monde ! Monday, Mar 28 2011

May I introduce you, in case you missed it, to a fabulous man who has written a very short book, a best-seller since months in France, and who in between has been published in other languages:

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indignez-vous_!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_for_Outrage!

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hessel

It is a wonderful statement about the worth of engagement as essential part of life, written by an inspiring old wise man who shares his experiences and values in a very heartful honest way.

This book makes it even more clear to me, how the roots of my actual battles are related to the engagement of my parents for a more human world.

Dear friends , I thank each of you to make a difference through the way you live your lifes, towards more beauty and justice for all!

Learn to listen to Cassandra before they call catastrophes unexpected Monday, Mar 14 2011

Natural catastrophes are overwhelming situations, humanity has learned to handle with common solidarity over the century.

Human made catastrophes are mostly the results of a long neglect of problems and something we could consider as a partial society amnesia of reality and a hybris projection of the own capacity’s to handle the future.

The problems occurring are than deeper as they have to overcome a generalised desensitisation who had exclude critical voices  out of consciousness. Suddenly the expectation for scientific wonder appears like very irrational wishes for pious miracles who will not come.

Instead of considering nature as our worse enemy and by that also doubting the wisdom of our own nature , let s question ourself if we allow to be impressed by pseudo serious posturing imposing us a highly artificial lifestyle for the sake of some divisive economy and if this is truly a cultivated healthy form of society with life quality hope for future generations.

Beyond the torments, a light breeze from the sea Thursday, Feb 24 2011

In this moment of suspense, between the slow ending of an old regime and a new system, who has to find himself, I step back from the pseudo fresh news, and dust off a bookshelf , till I find “The Alexandria Quartet” by Lawrence Durrell and few other books of that era and group of friends.

A certain spirit in some oeuvres sounds like the prism view of a lizards eye, who s fast heart beat beyond a pretend detachment, reflects the warmth of antique walls, disturbed beds, human struggle and eternal wisdom.

Sometimes an old song brings back the awareness how relatively short therm  some too long lasting circumstances are. Stepping away from the crowd, enjoying the light on some leaves, the waves ending on the toes , echo s the dream of the fallen splendours in the deep sea. once…once…once…long ago.

The blood of culture is revolt! Monday, Feb 7 2011

Even if culture has been kidnapped as faire valoir by a boring and bored bourgoisie, it was each time the sparkle of a new thinking, a new feeling a revolt against the mainstream mind.

I hear the wind of revolt in Mahler, Beethoven,  Schubert. I read it in the antic Greek philosophy, in medieval poetry. I see it in the impressionist, in the first hand spit on a wall, in each expression of human creativity who was a risk at his time and not a flattery of the wealthy.

Use culture shamelessly for your inner strength, listen to his hidden neglected power. Don’t stop at the surface concept using it for class division.

Lets us re-appropriate this wild deep spirit in it back! It is our all hard gain heritage who might help us to survive the driven short thought determinist.

They don’t fear anything more than creative sparkles of intelligence trespassing there own mind limitations. And nothing protects one more than the wisdom to know to be in a long lineage of courageous human.

Culture is a superbly dangerous revolutionary tool!

The art of pleasing the system Sunday, Nov 14 2010

Heard the regime recommends Confucius to the citizen of the new booming paper tiger.

Surprise, surprise…no, simply the perpetuation of the same expectation once and now of obedient subordination towards abusive authority’s.

How far from the original Tao!

In favour to keep the moment fresh,

kick the old rules how poems should be,

Fishes and experiences cant bear long fussing around.
